New Sidebar: Pin Your Plans, Athletes, and Workouts for Quick Access

A Sidebar That Works the Way You Do

We've completely redesigned the sidebar in The Next Race. Instead of switching between tabs to find your plans, athletes, or workouts, everything you need is now pinned and ready.

What Changed

The old sidebar had three tabs at the bottom: Plans, Workouts, and Athletes. You'd switch between them to browse full lists. It worked, but it meant a lot of clicking to get to the things you use most.

The new sidebar replaces all of that with a single, streamlined navigation. Your key pages are listed at the top: Home, Plans, Athletes, Workouts, and Activities. And under any of those, you can pin specific items for instant access.

Pin Anything to the Sidebar

Right-click any training plan, athlete, or workout and choose Pin to sidebar. That item now appears as a nested link directly under its parent navigation item.

Pinned a marathon plan? It shows up right under "Plans." Pinned your go-to athlete? They're under "Athletes." Need your favorite interval workout within reach? It's under "Workouts" and ready to drag onto your calendar.

You can pin as many items as you like, and unpin them just as easily with a right-click.

Drag Workouts Straight to Your Calendar

Pinned workouts aren't just links. They display with their full color-coded design, showing category, type, and distance at a glance. And just like in the workout library, you can drag them directly onto your training plan calendar.

This means your most-used workouts are always one drag away from being scheduled, no matter where you are in the app.

Collapsible Sections

Each pinnable section has a small chevron next to it. Click it to expand or collapse the pinned items underneath. The app remembers which sections you've collapsed, so your sidebar stays exactly how you left it.

The expand and collapse animations are smooth and polished. Items below slide into position naturally, and the pinned content fades in without any jarring jumps.

Your Settings, Always Accessible

At the bottom of the sidebar, your profile avatar gives you quick access to your account settings. Everything is right where you'd expect it.

This is the foundation for even more sidebar features down the road. We're exploring drag-to-reorder for pinned items and smart suggestions based on your recent activity.
